Ariga Sensei - the 7th Aikido seminar in Norway

Kaname Ariga Sensei, 6th dan Aikikai, is returning to Oslo for his 7th seminar in Norway, scheduled from June 13th to 15th, 2025. The seminar is part of Ariga Sensei’s 2025 Scandinavian Tour, organised by JuShinKan Aikido, in cooperation with the Finnish host clubs, with the assistance of Sentrum Aikido and Sunyata Aikido dojos.

Changing of location

This year, the seminar will be held at Bjølsenhallen, the 3rd floor, located at Moldegata 7, 0445 Oslo.

Training time

  • Friday, June 13th: 19:00 – 21:00
  • Saturday, June 14th: 10:30 – 12:30 and 15:30 – 17:30
  • Sunday, June 15th: 10:30 – 12:30
  • Party in the Saturday evening, after training, will be announced.

The teacher

Kaname Ariga Sensei began his Aikido journey in 1989 at the age of 15 and currently teaches and runs the Saku Dojo in Japan. He is known for teaching a simple, elegant, soft, and contact-based, yet effective aikido style, and is regarded as a very friendly, generous, and inspiring teacher. Currently, Ariga Sensei is holding international Aikido seminars regularly in Finland, Spain, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and Germany. 

Price

  • 800 NOK for the whole seminar.
  • 500 students, unemployed, youth under 26 (rebate applies to full seminar only).
  • 275 NOK / single class.

Sammen med OSI Aikido, avholder Sentrum Aikido årets første gradering 19. mai, 2025. Som regel vil vi gjennomføre gradering til og med 3. kyu.

After the success of the seminar last year, Sentrum Aikido happily announced that Jan Nevelius Shihan will continue holding his second seminar in Oslo this year, 2024.

Training schedules

  • Friday, November 22nd: 19:00 – 21:00
  • Saturday, November 23rd: 11:00 – 13:00 and 15:30 – 17:00
  • Sunday, November 24th: 11:00 – 13:00

We will hold a party on Saturday evening in the dojo. More information will be announced on Friday.

Price

  • 850 NOK for the whole seminar.

Where to stay

Travellers are welcome to stay at our dojo free of charge. We have a kitchen where you can cook, and a grocery store is located right above the dojo. Bring your sleeping bag. Just make sure to register with the form below so we can arrange it.

Public transport

Ruter App is the app you need to buy tickets. There are several options with pricing, check them out here.

If this is the first time you fly to Oslo, from Oslo Airport station (zone 4N), buy a ticket to Jernbanetorget (Oslo zone 1). The cheapest rate is using the Ruter App. There is another option, Flytoget, but the price is nearly double and it only saves you a few minutes.

Travel in Oslo (zone 1) to our dojo.

  • The closest subway station is Tøyen (all lines).
  • The closest bus station is Brinken (bus nr. 60) and Kjølbergata (bus nr. 20).

NB: Beware of the parking situation, no allotted parking spaces for our dojo. If you drive, you can use EasyPark to find available parking spaces nearby.

Onsdag 21. august skal vi holde interngradering sammen med OSI Aikido. Som regel vil vi gjennomføre gradering til og med 3. kyu. Snakk med Claire, Trond eller Tor Anton om du har lyst til å gradere.

Vi oppfordrer alle som har anledning om å bli med denne onsdagen for å skape god stemning for våre flinke kandidater!

Etterpå blir det feiring så klart!

Onsdag 20. mars er det gradering i Sentrum Aikido. Vi vil gjennomføre gradering til og med 3. kyu. Noen har allerede meldt sin interesse, men er det flere som ønsker å prøve seg, er det bare å melde fra. Studenter fra OSI Aikido kan også melde på.
